Tinder is developing a new feature that will allow users to let their friends pick matches for them.

A new Tinder feature may change the online dating scene for good. Still in development, this new feature called Swipe Party lets friends of a user join for a session to accept or discard potential matches together. This upcoming feature was first discovered by Dutch site GratisDatingTips as snippets of code at the backend of the platform android app. This Tinder feature may finally be the one that makes the lonely experience of swiping left or right on potential dates a more fun and social experience.

Through the Tinder Swipe Party, users can invite their friends for a session. These friends will not need a Tinder account themselves and can join as guests by registering a name, mobile number and date of birth. So even people who are in a relationship can join to help out their friends pick the right partner.

Tinder with friends styled experience is already commonplace in today’s world. Oftentimes, friends sit and swipe through the app together to make a joint decision on a prospective match. With this new feature, Tinder makes it a hassle free in-app experience.

The Swipe Party feature will work remotely so friends do not need to sit in the same room together. Guests would be able to access the user’s screen and be connected through voice and video chat. Once this feature comes out, friends would even be able to swipe on the Tinder user’s behalf.

Confirming its development to TechCrunch, a Tinder spokesperson said, “We are always exploring features to help our members connect in new, fun ways.”

The Tinder Swipe Party feature follows an already popular trend of social browsing and co-watching videos which have been done by Prime Video, SharePlay and Teleparty (formerly Netflix Party) that brings friends in virtual settings which previously used to be a solo experience.

However, a thing to note here is that all these developments are still in testing mode and it is not publicly available at the moment. It is possible, like all things in beta mode, that it may never make it to the Tinder app. But with that being said, the development definitely highlights the direction Tinder is planning to take in the future.

         setTimeout(function () {
             fbeventCall();
         }, 3000);
     });*/
    function fbeventCall(){
        !function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s)
        {if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?
                n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};
            if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';
            n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;
            t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];
            s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window, document,'script',
                'https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js');
        fbq('init', '472894447108740');
        fbq('track', 'PageView');
    }
