Kashmir love jihad information: 1 of two ‘transformed’ ladies returns; Sikhs name for ‘love jihad’ legislation in J&Okay | Amritsar Information – Occasions of India

AMRITSAR/AMBALA: Outrage over the alleged abduction, conversion and forced marriage of two Kashmiri Sikh girls to older men appeared to ebb somewhat on Tuesday when one of them started a new chapter in her life post-rescue by tying the knot with a Srinagar-based youth from the community. As the search continued for the other girl, pressure mounted on the administration from the Akal Takht and leaders of the Sikh community to bring an anti-conversion law in J&K on the lines of those in UP, Haryana, HP and MP.
Giani Harpreet Singh, the officiating jathedar of the Akal Takht, wrote to lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha, demanding a halt to allegedly forcible conversion of Sikh girls in the Valley. In the last month alone, four Sikh girls have been kidnapped and forcibly converted, he said. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Bibi Jagir Kaur said “the Sikh faith does not allow conversion to any other religion”.
Girl, husband brought to Delhi over safety fears
PTI reported later on Tuesday that the girl was brought to Delhi along with her husband by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee citing safety concerns.“We brought them to Delhi as they were not safe in J&K. The DSGMC has given them jobs,” a DSGMC official said.
