I woke up at 5 am on Sunday, 25 April with 99 fever and sore throat. I thought this fever came because I couldn’t sleep from last 2 nights due to a bad news that took away my sleep. I slept again and woke up at 10 am with 99.5 fever and severe bodyache.
There began the stage of isolation which was my best decision and saved other members of my family from getting infected. This was the first time I stayed away from my daughter in 4.5 years. But she understood the situation and cooperated really well considering the fact that she is just 4.5 years old.
I went for a COVID test after 2 days of continuous fever, severe headache, bodyache, dry mouth, excessive thirst and what not. Report came positive which made me think – bloody hell I didn’t even go anywhere in the last 1 week then how did this virus enter in my body. I had been around some people who went outside so it was difficult to actually trace the source of my infection. Well, there were some members in my family who were doing this acitvity on my behalf. LOL.
Those 14 days of isolation, my life revolved in a locked room with oxymeter, thermometer, steamer, doctor recommended medicines and hot water. I spent my days talking to my closed ones, video calls with Taisha, listening religous songs, cleaning, eating, washing my own utensils & clothes and thinking about my daughter. Needless to mention the endless support I received from my spouse in this tough time when negative thinking occupies your mind, you know there are only a few who you can vouch on.
Thankfully, by God’s grace, my taste and smell returned after 3-4 days but headache, weakness and bodyache made my situation worse. Blessed with a caring mother in law and brother who gave me enough support and strength to overcome from this disease. Taisha gave me immense strength by saying – ” Mumma aapko corona virus hai toh hum mil ni skte…agar merse milna hai toh apni medicines time pe lo or maine aapke liy God se bht saari prayer bhi kari hai”. Yes this is the statement of a 4 year old kid who wanted to meet her mother desperately.
Thanks to each one of you who enquired about my well being by calling or texting and those who did not enquire even after knowing my illness, let me tell you – COVID message ya phone karne se transfer nahi hota
